I had a blast ringing in the New Year in sunny Ft. Lauderdale! You can't go half a block down there without stumbling on something interesting (like a Bricklin SV-1!). Here are just a few of the rides I saw while I was in town.

There were also a few cars that whizzed by before I could snap a photo, including a Maybach 57S, Bentley Azure, Ferrari F430, and two black Phaetons!

yeah Ft Lauderdale still doesn't hold a candle to Miami though. First time I went there I almost died there were so many rich idiots with bright purple diablos and yellow testarossas

We moved to Cooper City, which is just west of Ft Lauderdale, back in 2006. As part of the move, we had to go down for a few visits to figure out where we wanted to live, line up a place to live, visit schools, etc...and I was like a kid in a candy store from the time we left the airport. After a few months of living there, I kind of got conditioned to seeing so many SL5xx/6xx's, Escalades, XLRs, M3's, M5's, Corvettes as daily drivers just dropping kids off at school.

Then, there were the special times where we went to hang out at the places where the wealthy (and the pseudo wealthy) take their rides. Sitting at the Bal Harbor Shoppes cafe is like being at a high end car show parade.

South Florida really is a mecca of automotive gawking.

The OC is equally epic. It's where I first heard a Gallardo's glorious wail. I was also greeted in the first 30min by both a Murcielago hardtop and roadster in the same mile—both orange!

lol

Come on though, that's the LEAST weird place we've seen him sans shoes. At least there's a beach in front of him.

Outstanding. A Bricklin? RLY? That's crazy.

Are you back in DC? If not, don't, it's not nice here.

I'm back in DC, unfortunately. Not frostbitten yet, though.

When I was living in South Florida, you used to see more Quattroportes in an hour than you would in a year anywhere else. I went back recently, and now the same holds true for Jag XJLs.
